The Royal Merit-Making Ceremony to Host a Luncheon of Thai-style Stuffed Pancakes for Senior-ranking Monks

(December – January)

The royal ceremony held as a form of luncheon hosted for 80 senior monks that belonged to Phra Racha Khana rank at Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace. Royal members, court ladies and court officials amassed to prepare Thai-style stuffed pancakes just beside the hall. The ceremony took place during these two months because it is the season that prawns are of the best quality and naturally contain more fat, which is the essential ingredient for the making of stuffed pancakes. Nowadays this ceremony is no longer performed.
